We have three barn cats which help to keep mice from eating our straw bale strings. We feed them enough to keep them around. One used to wander a bit but they all stay right in the farm yard now. If there are any rescue groups they will neuter cheaper. A male is cheaper than a female as far as getting them fixed. Give him a chance. I lose 100 dollars in the grain market in 2 seconds.
I've seen them with some dead rats that would have scared me. :-)
Any cat that shows up at our farm gets spayed or neutered. It's better than having a litter of kittens. And yes I know there are other options but it's not the animals fault. Here most get dropped off from people in town.
