If you keep back some heifers today to add to the herd, the first thing that happens is corn usage goes down, as she isn't in the feedlot. Then how long before her firstborn takes her place at the feedbunk?
If you want to build an E-plant you might have it running by 2020.

The only way to significantly increase usage for this crop is a few more days on feed, and that is limited by right time scheduling.

There appears to be some expansion in the pig sector, but that is from planning that begun 2-3 years ago. Sow ki!L numbers kinda suggest that some of the new herds ore just a reshuffling of ownership.
