Subject: RE: Ground beef jerky

Altoona, WI
1 lb hamburger
2 tsp salt
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch of cayenne, or to taste

Roll it out and cut strips or use a jerky gun. I spray non stick on my trays. It makes clean up so much easier. Took about 8 hrs to dry. Your milage may vary.

Based on comments made on the recipe by others, I cut the salt back a bit. Was still plenty salty (and I like salty stuff). Would recommend 1 tsp. I doubled the black pepper to 1/2 tsp. Glad I did.

Next batch I make, I plan to leave the ginger out. It isn't bad, just not for me. Might increase black pepper some more. Might add a touch more cayenne too.
