finney county, ks | I'm doing post spray right now on some some is just 2 leaf coming up sprinkler are off we have missed the rains for the most part recently but have a full sub soil may give the corn a quick drink next week if we don't get a shower tal talking around 100 over the weekend but no big deal I want to make sure the corn roots down good if we hit knee high and no rain we will be cranking the pivots full blast from then until half milk line. I just hAve come to the conclusion that corn is tougher than we think couple years ago planted some didn't think there was any moisture to get it up even some how it all came up never rained on it until just prior to tassel so I didn't fertilizer it and ended up making 110 I know doesn't sound great but this was dropped at 12,000 with a little flex in an ear corn is getting more like beans get good fill weather and it can compensate for alot | |
