The other thing is yield expectations. In Kansas dry land I'm sure 100 bu is considered a decent crop. Corn can take a lot of stress and do that. In Iowa 225 is expected and about anything less than 200 is a failure after the last couple years of monster yields. It doesn't take a super amount of heat and dryness to knock that top 25-50 bu off.
