Subject: RE: Drought to Tornadoes in 24 hrs

Faunsdale, AL
I was saying it was so dry it would be unlikely to get muddy after this rainfall, but its close! We got about 2.5 inches the first time and 1.8 this morning. Tomorrow the mud will be gone, it was dry down deep and a lot of the first ran down the cracks. Today it came hard enough to run off and make it to the ditches.

Luckily as the night wore on and the squall line came Southeast across the state it quieted down some. We had a small tornado or straight line wind that took down a bunch of trees and barn roofs about 5 am. Nothing like in your area.

Well, officially it was a F1 tornado with a total track of 13.5 miles. Of course it was skipping along hitting high spots most of the way. I am amazed that it went right through our grain leg and bin site without any damage.

Really bad situation where the daycare was hit and children hurt in North Alabama.
