EC North Dakota | There's plenty wrong with our country but plenty right too.
Education is the key. Make schools go away from being a daycare and become goal orientated. Explain to kids where each path they take will lead them. Stop telling them it's evil to try to get ahead.
We had a teacher who told us day 1, "Here is the schedule for the year and this is what you need to accomplish in 2 semesters. We will move at whatever pace you choose but everyone has to keep up and understand each lesson before we move on. When all our goals our reached, we are done and will switch to tournament chess."
Our entire class chose to do 8 lessons per week instead of 5. Everyone helped each other and excelled. By March we had finished and switch to playing chess. Our school principal found out and chewed our teachers arse. Said we had to work on our lessons and this other way was not allowed.
When kids have goals and competition, they concentrate and excel. When they're told they're just there until the bell rings it's a waste of everyone's life. | |
