Lock the doors and with it running and have a spare key with you and also on the pickup somewhere so you can unlock it. I understand wanting to keep the pickup running. I seem to have the opposite problem, I leave mine unlocked way to often. Was not raised to be fearful of your neighbor and lock things up tight.
