Gretna, VA		Another truly exceptional horse was Kelso. I was at Laurel when he won the 1964 D.C. International. My Dad worked at the track.

I was told by a trainer that the reason they had to geld him young was that he wanted to mount any mare in sight, even on the track. The weights he had to spot other horses is what kept him from being the greatest horse ever, IMHO.
