Subject: RE: Ways to justify full time employees on grain farm

Ohio
Our shop pays us well during the winter. Maintaining all the equipment and building and fabricating ways to do things better and cutting out a lot of dealer expenses on equipment adds up big time for us. Every couple years we usually buy a bigger purchase for the farm (like a planter, truck, or trailer) to build into what we need for the farm. Last winter was building our chemical trailer setup. The winter before that was switching a line bed from our old truck to a newer truck we bought. All these things have made us more efficient and saved us time a money in the long run. It's always nice take my a few weeks off in the winter when it's snowing and blowing. Makes up for working all those 100+ hour weeks
