Grand Island, Nebraska | Pretty easy job. Lift up and remove lower seat cushion. You will see strut for backrest on the left side. There is a plastic block on the front of the strut that holds it to the metal seat plate. Often that block is broken. You will need the kit #22 part 391414A1 which includes strut and block. Kit sells for around $105.
