Yes a JD 500 grain cart will dump into a Brent 544 wagon just fine. we do it all the time with our John Deere 500 cart. We have had good luck with ours, we always are sure to change out the gear box oil each season. Not as fancy as some of the newer carts, but sure gets the job done here.
