SW Iowa | Now this is on a CIH 1640 but local John Deere has a Red mechanic on the payroll. Had trouble with my header control, sent the tech out, couldn't figure it out (he's an older tech), said to call another shop. Got the bill for the service call today. Now I'm not saying that I don't owe them something but $335?!?! $257 labor, $50 service call fee, and $6 for misc. Haven't got bill for other shop, but said a wire was the problem and they installed new linkage on the 1020 head. Works great and figure it won't be cheap either but THEY FIXED IT. Not fixed and $335? Little steep.
Ok, I got beer and feel better now!
