Sac & Story county IA
There are some spots on combine that are awful to get at to work on.
Don't get too worried about Sunday breakdown. All days seem about the same.
Now, for our frustrating story. Saturday noon, guy idled combine and a stop light came on. Machine wouldn't move. Low hydro charge pressure. Scared we would find filters plugged with metal pieces. 3 trips for parts, one mechanic out - which did nothing. We are pretty sure the hydro pressure is a bit low and at idle, it turns off pressure switch and disables propulsion. Older machines would get a light to flicker til you brought engine speed up. This combine has a different pump than the common one. Paving machine maker at Ida uses this pump. That is where I may find reading material to set pressure.
My helpers all have other stuff going on and we didn't want to loose the nice days.
