Treating by temp used to be pretty common.  But we've found that cattle will naturally raise their temp when they're worked just through stress and activity so a lot of cattle had gotten treated that didn't need it.  When you pull individuals and they show a temp, hit 'em hard.  But when you're working a large group you'll get elevated temps that are not fevers.
