Subject: RE: Manure analysis from bed pack barns

I have a small beef herd but buy quite a bit of poultry litter. Bedded pack beef manure is great fertilizer because it adds quite a bit of organic matter but it is time consuming to spread due to the high application rates necessary to get a decent amount of nutrients. 15 tons of beef manure is roughly equivalent to 3 tons of poultry litter. I'd give my beef manure away if I could find someone to take it and buy more poultry litter. I do try to target my small amount of beef manure to sandy fields with low organic matter or those low in nutrients. I wouldn't count on it making money from it and it will either cost lots of time or money for you to utilize it.
