That is the time when you say no. We borrow/rent more than we would ideally like to, but it all works out in the end. We borrow our neighbors skidsteer a few times a year for baling hay, it always goes back to his place with a full tank of fuel and we help him service it. We also used another neighbors discbine when our swather had carb issues. We said we were just borrowing it but it went back the next day all washed up and with a check covering the proper amount for the acres we put through it. Same thing with their rake when we had a lot to do (too much for our wore out one, next on the upgrade list) washed and paid. This fall they lost a family member so when they opened up fields, me and dad each took one of our tractors and wagons over to help chop corn silage. Don't expect anything in return, they would do the same thing. I think you get the gist, if it is neighbor helping neighbor and/or everything is settled up the way it should be, everything is good. When it is the situation you describe, then you have issues.
