Grain farming isn't profitable in southern Iowa either, believe me. Just ask the local businesses how people have cut back. No ARC payment, APH's lower this year because of an actuarial change (reducing coverage). I know there are exceptions but nobody in my neighborhood seems to be in a good mood.
