It sounds like they mostly just crash a lot and have problems with batteries and software. I have seen some very good images of tractors and combines in the field...but the crop photos haven't revealed much that the farmer didn't already know. A lot is promised...and there is always a newer version on the way. The take-away message for me is that the only people making money with drones today are those selling and repairing them.

The things are worse than computers for becoming obsolete. I bought a phantom 2 vision plus a little over a year and a half ago. It is already only worth 1/4 of what I paid for it, has been replaced by multiple newer versions, and is no longer compatable with things like drone deploy.

I realize technology advances, but it seems a little too fast on these things.
