Ripley, Ontario Canada | I will also stick up for you Jim
There is no excuse for spraying when it is that windy, if I am paying the current prices for chemicals and application, I want the stuff to stay on the field I am spraying it on. If you have to wait, too bad, lots of acres, better have more sprayers. There is a reason sprayers are a lot bigger than they used to be, my local supplier has 2 100 foot sprayers, and hires up to 5 more if they need more sprayer power. IF we as farmers don't use our heads we will get new rules forced on us.
Exhibit 1 the neonic seed rules in Ont. They found neonic seed treatments in dead bees, not sure it killed them all, but pretty sure a dry chemical applied to seed shouldn't be ending up on dead honey bees. Well now we have rules making it a lot harder to use neonic seed treatments. | |
