I absolutely spray when I know it will be planted. As little as 1-2 hours before planting has worked well as long as the growing conditions allowed the herbicide to be taken in. Many of my soybeans are conventional so I have to know that I have killed them. I use 1qt Buccanerr and 6.4oz Sharpen, and have gone as high as 7.5oz Sharpen. So much of the Sharpen contacts the cereal rye that it poses little threat to germinating soybeans even with rain after planting. Don't skimp on the additives with the Sharpen. Two years ago also considered the Sencor/Dual with RUP and I did not have as good a control on the cereal rye. I always spray at 15GPA. Good luck.
