Most is grown in northwest, like Washington on the eastern side. The climate is very arid, and any rainfall around harvest time is a bad thing. Seed growers spend a ton of money on pollinators and making sure they are happy. Not saying you couldn't do it, but I'll bet the odds of success are not in your favor just because of your climate
