Turf sports fescue, tuff dark green. Mow at least 3.5 -- 4 inches high. Some of the new Ky. Blue grass also very dark green , some Ky. Blues do NOT take heat very well. You GOT TO USE pre's in spring to control crab grass, maybe once in summer in addition to spring.
