West Central MN | We have had an International Hough 80 payloader for about 20 years now. It was well used when we got it, but it is a tough machine and is very well built. We have no idea how many hours are on it, but it is certainly a large number.
Only major problem we've had was a minor transmission problem which turned into a fairly major fix because there were some parts changes and we had to completely rebuild the transmission in order to use the newer parts.
Parts have not been a problem that we can see. Any major dealer of construction equipment should be able to round up what you need. We have been dealing with DMI in Sioux Falls, SD.
We used to haul grain locally, so we originally bought it for cleaning out bunkers of grain. Worked great since it could lift high enough to dump directly in the semi's. The old gal is definitely starting to get a little tired, so her main use now for moving snow in town during the winter. We still use it on the farm for digging the occasional big rock out and for moving dirt around, but we try to take it easy on her to try and make her last as long as we can. | |
