Just from the looks, I would say he was rolling and expanded hard and fast. I expect a lot of 1980 something farm sales looked similar. Nice house. Buildings. Figgered out corn was what was really making the money and bank pulled rug. I'd guess he's trying to get ahead of a foreclosure.

Yes monoslopes and hoops will be the Harvestore of this generation. 30 years + is no coincidence. Harvestores were built in the 70s boom and the 80s broke em. No difference now.

BTW my granddad sold the hell out of em and I know guys that went through the deal.

If cattle money put up the buildings (or a harvestore) it'll be fine. Otherwise there had better be some equity to back it up.


Interesting comments on all poster's Zak- I always wonder if there's a desire to build a cattle barn why a guy can not just build a small one-160 head first, and try one?
