Could be acidosis/grain overload. Did he eat quite a bit of grain yesterday?
I would give your vet a call, if he were mine I would tube with water and baking soda and oral pen. I would also check mouth and tongue make sure he does not have stick, stem, string... They can go downhill fast with acidosis
