southwest Iowa | Had an old cow that should have left the farm but thought I could get one more year. She went down a few days ago and was losing ground fast. I needed to put her out of her misery but she could have a calf any day. So what does a guy do? I said I'm not out anything for trying and did my own C-section and got a nice bull calf that has survived the day and is sucking a bottle so we'll see what happens. Some days you just have to gamble. Pics are of the calf and yesterday's twin that the kids had to see.
