AB. | This morning got a couple heifers calving. Watch wait a couple hours, the one has hers finally the other still only has one foot out. Get her in, fair size calf, get chains on hand pull it out, hip locks for about 20 seconds. put the puller on hardly put any tension on it pops out. Calf is breathing, drag her over to mommas snout for a sniff for a few minutes. Sled ride into a pen, get its front feet tucked under it, its starting to try to lift its head. Let momma in (first calf heifer) she starts licking it off. My wife checks on it 10 minutes later, alive and well. Get busy come back in a few hours and its laying the same spot dead as dead can be. I never even gave it a second thought when I shut the pen gate and mom started licking it off.
