I dont' have any input as far as your lines go, but the fella laughing would of rubbed me wrong pretty good. 50+ years old but there are still a lot out there being used. Maybe check with a different dealer and see what they say if that's even an option.

I walked into the JD dealer to ask about my 7100 planter and some parts. He simply couldn't help me with anything because he said nobody uses those old planters around here anymore. He only knew one farmer in the area that used finger pickups for corn and told me to track him down and ask him. Wow

Try a different dealer I had the wife call for parts for our 7100 while I was at work. First dealer said Deere never built a 7100 she hung up. Called the next dealer down the road they said the seal kit we needed was NLA but was able to put a kit together piece by piece. Some parts guys should be a WalMart handing out carts.
