West central Indiana | Got home from work at 9 last night wife said our one heifer is gonna calve soon! Checked o. Her a couple time finally went to bed bout 11 wife woke me up at 1 said sack broke and foot sticking out got her in chute and got chains on her , I noticed big feet right off! Pulled and pulled got head and shoulders out and calf started shaking head thought alright we're good . Heifer started to lay down in chute so had to open side to get her on here side to get calf Un hip locked got it out but was to late I'm assuming it suffocated when she layed Down ? First loss of year but still hate it . So back up at 6 and back to work at 9 for another 12 hour day lol | |
