sure is a shame seeing all the organic matter going up in carbon, results more bare soil less food for microbes and ground drying out in the summer due to less cover. Used to do that on my native grasses also.
One of the more intersting classes I took in school. Remember what works in your part of the world doesn't dictate how everyone operates.
