NW Kansas | We have been ai our heifers for a while. I like the idea of sexed semen but a lot of the good bulls you can't get. You do get lots of calves quick but it seems like a bit of a job for the bulls to clean them up when half of them come back into heat next cycle so close together. So if you're trying to use less bulls it seems to work against you for the half that don't get stuck. Definitely get calves out of a bull that's out of a persons price range. If you could get all heifers would be worth it. I'm starting to think be better off spending more on the bulls you buy and just let them do what they are made to do. | |
