| Is your intention to cut 20 & 40 units of N completely from your N program all together, or just from being applied as weed & feed? IMO we can all have a plan on paper of what to do but the best mgmt strategy is to listen to what the corn crop tells you it needs. In Central Indiana this past year we had heavy spring/summer rains and we had to come back and apply more units of N then we planned...our yields reflected that mgmt decision vs the guy who said forget it, the crop is lost.
The price of N & corn shouldn't dictate your decision in feeding your crop...yes, of course, at some point you can't keep throwing dollars at it but there are ways with the technology available to actually feed the corn crop when it needs the food and applying less N which is a more economically sound decision. | |
