That's hard to believe. My 2013 2500 with a 5.7 calls for 5w-20 unless your towing then it says use 5w-30. Mine has had 5w-30 Mobil 1 synthetic since its first oil change with no issues at all. It has 45000 and I've changed it every 5000 since new.
