Subject: RE: PED out break and the hog market

Northwest Iowa
We are at 3.5 year cycle lows. The lean hog contracts may have marked the low. It won't feel better for a while. The start of the rising (bull) side of the cycle may just be the roll of successive futures contracts. Roughly 2 years from now, producers will be banking big profits. It is the idiosyncrasy of the market. 3.5 years out from now.we will be seeing lows again. There will be some fundamental news to give us a strong upmove. Could be any number of things. Even the Olympics in Brazil needing extra food for all the visitors. The lows in 2009 were from the misnamed "swine flu". The 3.5 year cycle low was due so anything could trip it. PED was the news for the highs in 2014. I had noted from the previous low in Aug/Sept 2012 that the major high would be in summer 2014.
