Subject: RE: South Dakota hay storage question

West River, SD
I guess that everyone has pretty much answered the question! Some people do not even stack or line grass hay if it will be loaded on a truck at some point before winter. I usually try to put stacks where there have already been stacks, to minimize alfalfa kill. If people haul with a truck, the hay in normally hauled in the fall or left in place until needed, but with a stack mover, it can be moved throughout the winter if the ground is solid and the snow is not extremely deep.
