Central Kansas | Looks to me to be a valve from one of the late 1950's early 1960's big honkin' old LeRoi V/8 stationary engines used to push salt water down into a spent oil production field. They were often in a metal 'house' with twin pipes sticking out the side. When it would go on a power stroke on the pump in sounded like what I wanted my '50 ford to sound like...but I never got there. I think this engines were LP gas powered....man, they were HUGE things. Seems to me I remember one being torn down near us and scattered around on a table were valves...and they sure looked like this one. Things were bigger back then however. | |
