| I got the machine to do an acceptable job as far as keeping the cob pieces out of the bin, although it is not nearly as good as my old 8820 but I think with the precleaner system it is never going to be as good. I wonder why they do not direct the grain that falls through the precleaner onto the seive?
Do all grain loss monitors work as poorly as mine? It seems to vary so much from minute to minute. I look on the ground when the needle comes up on the monitor, and the combine seems to be doing a good job. If this is not normal, what would the problem be? Also, this is the first combine I have had that had a grain loss monitor that does not compensate for ground speed. The way this is set up, it seems to me that most of the benefit of a monitor is lost. I had a Dickey John grain loss monitor on a 6620 years ago, and it was far superior to this factory JD monitor. Otherwise I like the machine, but there is certainly room for improvement in the monitor department. | |
