Subject: RE: JD 4640 seat

Shelby, MT
we bought the tractor approx 8-10 yrs ago with approx 5k+ hrs on it and the seat was the way it is now, not a seat but a bench....We didn't know that there was suspension in the seat just assume it was tipicle JD punishing their customers again...then I talked with my inlaws and they said that the seat wasn't supose to be solid and to get the bottle filled...my dad is too cheap to buy new for only using it a few hrs a year...we still have under 6k hrs on it so maybe he is right...I have ajusted the levers and I just lift the one on the left and raise the seat to the height I want and go, but no movement in the seat no matter how much of a hole you hit.

so to get this right this straight I can screw in a air chuck and air the bottle up to approx 90 psi and the seat will have some movement...will the air come out when I unscrew the chuck from the bottle? and how long will the air stay in? I just froth at the mouth when I have to deal with JD bull crap....the JD 830 and 5020 were better, at least movement...and I know that it sounds like wining from a young guy but that doesn't excuse JD. Now they have cab on the combines and such that they don't build and that is why things got nice...
