I don't know much about combines, but I know the local big time custom choppers used to trade machines every five years when they had one machine, now they have had two for six years, and still have the first "second" machine, but traded off the original "first" machine last season (2005) after 6-7 seasons of use. now they are not sure how long to keep these machines for, some personel re-structuring is happening (the oldest son bought a dairy in Sask) and so on so they might be going back to one machine in the next year or so......
