| We placed laminated posts on top of a poured foundation. We have 16' sidewalls and the posts are fastened onto the concrete with a bracket on each side of the post. The brackets are placed on anchor bolts that we set when the foundation was poured. There isn't any extra bracing at the top, but the trusses are bolted into a saddle at the top of the post. In other words, the middle lamination was cut away and the truss was placed into the void, then the bolt runs through all three laminations.
The building has been up for going on 10 years, and can't find any evidence of it shifting. | |
