Abilene Machine shows an air suspension to replace the hydra-cushoined seat in a 40 series, looks like about $6-700 for the brackets & all, but I don't know if it would be that much better than the factory seat working right. Like everything else, if you're gonna play, you gotta pay...I've seen 40 & 50's have trouble in the seat valve. If the new accumulator didn't fix it, your valve might be bad...if you hated the price of the accumulator, you'll have a stroke when you buy the valve...I've put air seats in a couple of 4230's, it's definitely better than the old mech. suspension. The old ones w/the narrow seat bucket are no picnic, you have to cut the cab & widen the bucket...
