I'm no expert, but you might have them try burning @ rate slower than 12x. I run into that w/dvds. If I burn slow (that would be 6x for me & dvds)...just about everything in the world can read them OK. If I burn fast, then they start showing problems (stalling-freezing-skipping-etc) especially on cheaper or older dvd players. You're probably only talking seconds difference in burn time anyway on a cd.
