On a 16' tall building with the post not set in the ground I think it would require a little extra bracing at the top of the post to insure that the post stay at a 90° angle to the trusses. I've seen some pole buildings with the trusses simply bolted to the posts while others use an angled support from about 3' down on the post to about the same distance out on the truss and most of the laminated post buildings have the truss sandwiched in the middle of the post which looks like the best idea to me.
