Subject: Burned CDs in CD Player

Oklahoma
This isn't farm related but there are more good ideas here than anywhere else.

A family member made a CD for me to listen to while driving. It was originally pulled from Napster as a MP3 file then burned to a CD. I listened to it in the car and it played but skipped all the time. Tried it in my truck, and 2 portable CD players and it won't even recognize the CD is in there. Visited with my brother who is more technologically advanced than myself and he said it was the wrong files, needed to be a WAVE file. He came over and somehow converted them to WAVE files and burned a new CD. Plays nearly perfect in the car (97 lumina with Pioneer CD player) but it still won't play in the truck (01 chevy with factory installed player) or in any portable CD player I have tried. Called my brother back and he hasn't ever heard of this and burns CDs all the time with no problems. Any ideas on what might be wrong or a file type that would be better suited for this. Thanks.
