| Thanks for all the replies to my questions earlier. As usual, the answers posted all lead to more questions.
It appears that considering a axial flow combine maybe worth thinking of.
I have both green and red dealers about equal distance from me and both are about equal in my mind.
Having run silver and now green machines, I think I am fairly knowledgeable on what to look for and what to expect for the life of specific areas of these machines.
I have none of this knowledge on the red ones.
Does someone know of a resource or can elaborate on what to expect to be needing attention on say at
1,000 hrs, 2,000 hrs, 3,000 hrs ???
Are there any specific areas that need attention or are "weak points" on these red machines ? For example: My experience is the bearing on the main shaft off the engine under the cab needs to looked at seriously every year and changed out approx 1500-2000 hrs during the off season.
In short what specifics should I look for on a used axial flow to determine if the repairs needed are being considered in the asking price of the machine ?
TIA
