Southern MD | A friend I talk to a lot has a similar theory. He thinks certain hybrids are "sweeter" or make more sugar then other varieties. Case in point he planted a channel variety on a field with heavy deer pressure last year and the deer ate very little of the corn maybe couple acres. Planted a different brand this year and they have ate a good chunk of the field already. Field is by itself surrounded by woods so no neighboring fields rotation to influence deer activity. Be nice if a university did a trial on this for us that fight wildlife. | |
