| If it is sunny out the surface temperature be warmer than the air temperature. That is the way it works, The sunlight or radiation warms what it hits and then heats the air. At night it works the opposite and causes frost. At night the heat from the ground sends out the radiation and if it is cloudy it is reflected back. If it is clear it radiates out to space causing the ground to cool causing frost. It has been along time since I had meteorology in school, so I hope that it is right. | |
