I have experience from the start with PC's, I remember the 286 models well. I have
replaced mother boards, and added memory, etc.
As fond as you are of your idea, the best thing to do is safely backup your data, and
"Get a new computer".
I don't believe you will be able to accomplish what you want. It is time to update.
