Subject: RE: Driving interstate 55 in Illinois

The coal mine near Elkhart Illinois put a second shaft down north of Williamsville. Instead of duplicating all the necessary infrastructure for the second mine they move the coal by conveyor belt. Miles of it, then turns a corner and a couple more miles. Once the coal is back at the original mine, it is trucked back south along the converyor belt and goes to the Springfield power station. Not sure all of my terminology is correct and not sure all the coal goes to Springfield, but is generally true. Not a coal miner, thank goodness.
